Join us in Molalla, Oregon on July 23rd and July 24th, 2010 as Al Kader Shriners presents a fundraising event with a new twist. Bull riders will face off against the toughest rodeo stock and test their strength in a battle with the beast to win the jackpot. Barrel racing beauties will run a clover leaf pattern to have the fastest time and claim the prize money. This is truly a rough and tumble western event, as we showcase Northwest rodeo talent for a great cause.
Al Kader Shriners was founded in 1888. Originally located in the City of Portland, our home is now in Wilsonville, Oregon. The purpose of Shriners International is to have fun and support Shriners Hospitals for children. The Imperial Council met in Portland, Oregon, in 1920, and thus began the Shriners Hospitals for Children, for it was here that the movement to define our philanthropy began.
For over 87 years, more than 900,000 children with orthopedic problems, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate received care at Shriners Hospitals for Children. This network of 22 hospitals provides expert medical care, without financial obligation to patients or their families.
Plans for this exciting weekend include Friday, July 23rd Cowboy Dance featuring The Piedmont Boys, auction, and exhibition rodeo. Saturday, July 24th includes bull riding and barrel racing competition to be followed by country music recording artist Gretchen Wilson in concert and dancing in the arena dirt.
